Martha’s Vineyard Online

Martha’s Vineyard Online (MVOL.com) started in 1995 as an online directory for Martha’s Vineyard businesses.

Not long after MVOL went online, Yahoo awarded MVOL the title of “The Official Site of Martha’s Vineyard.” The award reflects MVOL’s directory listings that help millions of users seek information about the island and its businesses.

MVOL employees work closely with island businesses in effort to increase their visibility through the internet, and their professional team works hard to bring out the wonder and beauty of our special island.

Vineyard Gazette

The Vineyard Gazette was the island’s first newspaper. Founded in 1846, it has covered Vineyard life ever since.

The first editor established the Gazette to chronicle the news of this Island, and help it decide how to ensure its prosperity for the future. That mission remains essentially the same at the start of the 21st century. The Vineyard Gazette believes that the way Vineyarders labor, congregate, volunteer, meet on the street, play and devote themselves to an uncountable variety of interests sets this place apart from all others, and that the Island thrives in this apartness. The Gazette calls itself a Journal of Island Life, but for the particular attention it pays to the individual on Martha’s Vineyard, the creed might better be expressed as Journal of Island Lives.
