CHERRY ROOM & RATES

The Cherry Room occupies the southeastern corner of the inn and, as one might expect, is floored with cherry hardwood floors harvested, like the wood on every rooms floor, in western Massachussetts.  The room has a limited view of the Atlantic above the trees to the south and a look down the north shore of the Vineyard along Vineyard Sound in the east. This room has a king bed as well as a full bath, telephone services and a television. The vaulted ceiling in this room gives it, along with rugs, flowers and art, a dynamic and comfortable feel.

A Welcoming Atmosphere

A stay at the inn is, as many travel writers have pointed out over the years, like a visit to a friend’s vacation home. Rooms have the feel of home, all slightly different but all a favorite to many returning guests for one feature or another

Private Bath

Every room has a private bath. We stock fresh, all cotton bath and facial towels daily. Rooms are attended by housekeeping every day. We freshen the room with new bath amenities, make beds and clean. We are happy to supply additional towel and linen service when requested.

Internet Access

There is internet connectivity for guests and access to our computers, if you did not bring yours. Printing and faxing are also available.

Beach Access

For a day at the beach we provide large beach towels, chairs and sun umbrellas, and ice for coolers. You can walk from the inn to the beaches that surround the headland. We also have parking permits to allow parking at a few of the beaches around our community, opened to residents only (which  inn guests are considered to be during their stay).

Complimentary Beverages

Coffee, tea, and a selection of mixers and soft drink are available throughout the day. Guests can help themselves to these items at the bar on the porch. In our living room we offer books to borrow. Some are old favorites of ours and many have been left by previous guests. A refrigerator and freezer are dedicated to inn guests for their perishable items, accessible 24 hrs in the upper kitchen. For guests who bring prepared foods “home”, we are happy to provide plate and flatware for those occasions.

Full Breakfast

We serve a full breakfast to our inn guests every morning in the dining room, which includes fresh fruit, juices, coffee & tea, toast and a main breakfast dish made each morning in our kitchen. We provide newspapers daily which generally arrive around 8:oo am. We spread them out in the breakfast area and usually have both the Boston Globe and the New York Times. All rooms have telephone and television.

RESERVATIONS

ROOM & RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS

Dinner and lodging reservations require a call to the inn.

We do not have a dedicated email responder, however, it is likely that an inquiry about availability by email will be met with a response, but the sure fire way to getting succinct answers to all manner of questions is often best achieved with a phone call.

Particularly helpful is a call while you are on our website as we can then address specific questions about rooms and meal service with the website’s images and text right at your fingertips. Because many inn guests specify particular rooms with their reservation, it isn’t possible to post availability on the website because often we have to manipulate the rooms calendar to accommodate those requests.

Really, the best thing is to call and speak with one of us here at the inn. We can also help during those conversations, with recommendations of everything from travel plans and directions to activities around the Vineyard.

DEPOSIT & CANCELATION

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION

Four nights (or more) ….. 50% deposit
Three nights (or less)….. 100% deposit

Notification of cancellations received before 30 days of the reserved date of arrival will be met with a full refund, less a processing fee of 10%. In explanation, this 10% fee represents our clerical time, the postage involved, and the cost of credit card charges that are levied upon us in order to receive your deposit.

Cancellations received within 30 days of the reserved stay will forfeit the entire deposit, less the receipts recuperated from a new booking of that stay.

We operate under unique circumstances that are best defined as the confines of “island life”. For visitors, it’s not easy to make reservations to get to the Vineyard. Conversely, if those visitors need to cancel, it is difficult for innkeepers to find prospective replacements that can get to the Vineyard on short notice. This is why we have the 30 day cancellation time, as it makes it more likely that a rebooking will be possible.

We make every effort to expose these unoccupied rooms to as many people as possible through reservation services and our neighbor inns, all of whom do the same as they need to cover an open room. We cannot, however, afford to refund payment for a room stay that surely would have been filled by another visitor prior to the cancellation, regardless of the reason.

We strongly urge reserved guests to consider “cancel for any reason” trip insurance. There are many providers of this type of coverage on the internet. Simply Google the topic. This coverage can mean that you are reimbursed for travel expenses as well as deposits on rooms stays regardless of your reason for canceling the trip. Many travelers rely upon these coverages.
